acupunctureAcupuncture, an ancient Eastern practice that has grown in Western medicine recently, has enormous benefit in assisting your recovery from pain and swelling.

It involves the use of fine needles inserted at specific points, known as Acu-points, on the skin. These points stimulate nerve endings. The needles are left in, and occasionally moved, for up to 30 minutes

Pain on insertion of the needle should only amount to a light ache, or tingling. Once the needle is in there should be no further discomfort, unless the needle is moved for further effect, which may create more tingling.

Acupuncture has become particularly effective for back and neck pain, including relief from headaches; shin pain; and chronic conditions. It is a useful adjunct to more traditional physiotherapy treatments.
