What can I expect at my first appointment?
First time appointments last approximately one hour so we can assess your movement profile.
You will be asked what sports you do or what sports you hope to start and the assessment will show whether you have the movement pre-requisites for your sport.
Every movement we do has pre-requisites and when we don’t own the required pre-requisites, compensation injuries occur. The assessment will show which joints are tight, which joints are too weak, and which joints are doing well.
If a joint is too tight and has inadequate passive range of motion, treatment for that joint will be more manual therapy based- dry needling, cupping, FAKTR, and adjusting. Once the joint loosens up you will be given exercises to maintain the newly acquired range of motion.
If a joint is weak and does not have enough active range of motion, you will be given strengthening exercises for that specific joint. For this, FRC- functional range conditioning will be used which has been shown to not only build strength and tissue resilience but will also help mitigate injuries and improve your movement capacity.
How long are appointments and how often do you aim to see people?
First time appointments will last approximately one hour so we can assess your movement profile.
My goal is to see you twice, maybe three times, and teach you how to fix yourself. If your goals are to not just manage your pain but to make sure it never comes back this is the place for you.
